Its a hardy herb has a delicate purple-blue flower in spring and summer. Common to Europe, the flower from this plant yields one of aromatherapy’s favourite essential oils. The whole plant is highly aromatic and is a common garden plant, it has a well-established tradition as a folk remedy and its scent is well recognised and familiar to most. It was Indigenous to the Mediterranean region but is now cultivated all over the world.
