Birch Sweet Essential Oil is a colourless pale yellow to reddish tinted liquid with an intense sweet woody and wintergreen-like scent.

Steam distilled from the bark macerated in warm water, Birch Sweet Essential Oil is a colourless pale yellow to reddish tinted liquid with an intense sweet woody and wintergreen-like scent.

A graceful tree about 25 meters high with a pyramidal shape when younger. It has bright green leaves and a dark reddish to brown aromatic bark, which is broken into plates or patches. Native to Southern Canada and South-eastern USA. There are numerous species of Birch that span several different continents from Europe to North America. It is mainly cultivated in Pennsylvania.

Herbal & Folk Tradition 

The cambium layer, directly under the bark is cut into strips and eaten. The bark in the form of an infusion is used as a general stimulant to promote sweating.
