A water-loving herb that is often found nearby rivers and streams, growing tall and large with broad pointed leaves dividing into smaller leaflets covered by tiny greenish-white flowers. Varieties of this plant grow all over Northern Europe as well as Iceland, Greenland and central Russia. There are over thirty different types but this is the most commonly used medicinally.
