Camellia oil is cold pressed from the seeds of the plant which grows wild in the mountains of Japan and China.  The oil has been used for Centuries by Japanese women for skin and hair care.

A golden yellow mobile oil, great for cooking, a great emollient and very nourishing.

Native to Asia, the plant grows wild and bears delicate white and pink flowers. It is native to the Southeast of Asia and there are different varieties grown around the world in tropical and sub-tropical regions.

Camellia sinensis is the tea plant, with evergreen leaves and leaf buds are used to produce, White tea, Green tea, Oolong tea and Black tea. They are all processed differently to attain different levels of oxidation. The Plant is usually cut to stop it growing over 2.5m to facilitate the collection of leaves for the making of tea.

 

Properties

Camellia Oil contains vitamins A and B and is very nourishing. it is an excellent emollient and is regarded to have similar properties to Jojoba Oil as it is easily absorbed in the skin. Containing antioxidants which help protect the skin from damage and can be used to help strengthen nails. The oil can be used for cooking oil and seasoning for cold salad food.

Methods of Use

15 Drops of Essential Oil to every 50mls of Carrier Oil or base Product.


Massage Blend for Very Dry Skin


25ml Camellia Oil
25ml Apricot Oil

8 Drops Frankincense Essential Oil
4 Drops of Lemon Essential Oil
3 Drops Sandalwood Essential Oil


Great for dry and damaged skin.

Take your Carrier Oils and mix together for a 50ml blend. Then add in your Essential Oils one by one and mix well. Apply a small amount around the desired area.

Herbal Tradition & Folklaw

The oil is used and has been used traditionally in far eastern hair and scalp treatments as it is an emollient and rich in unsaturated fatty acids. The leaves are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to help with asthma and circulatory problems. Historically it was used to protect Samurai swords from rusting and preventing the corrosion of woodworkers chisels.

As far as known no known contraindications. Camellia has a shelf life of 2 years.
