Lime oil is expressed from the peel of the unripe fruit. Lime has a fresh, sweet scent and is energising and uplifting.

Lime Essential Oil is a pale yellow, olive-green liquid, with a sweet odour or a water-white or pale yellow liquid with a fresh scent.

It is a small evergreen tree up to 4.5 metres high, with stiff sharp spines. Pale green colour, half the size of a lemon. It is naturalised in many tropical and subtropical regions around the world. It is cultivated in South Florida, the West Indies, Central America and Italy. Several species of this fruit are used to produce different oils. The essential oil is produced by the expressed peel of unripe fruit or the whole crushed fruit.
