Uplifting Essential Oils

Plant oils extracted from flowers, trees, bushes, and herbs can be used to assist with a wide variety of ailments. The use of essential oils in our everyday lives can uplift our moods and invigorate our senses. Essential oils can have a really positive benefit on your mood, and just smelling the aroma can get you out of the doldrums and help you feel better. This is because as soon as you smell an essential oil, the nose sends the signal immediately to your limbic system – the part of the brain that deals with emotion. Smelling a good oil is the quickest way to alter your mood, the key is knowing which oils to use.

Using an aromatherapy diffuser with oils has become very popular, and for good reason. It can fill the atmosphere with slow-release essential oils and have positive benefits on emotional and physical health all day long. Many of the citrus oils are uplifting and can positively affect your mood. Here is a list of my top 10 essential oils that can assist your moods

Eucalyptus Smithii Essential Oil

by Penny Price March 20, 2026 5 min read

In the vast world of eucalyptus, Eucalyptus smithii (Gully Gum) stands out for its unique "gentle strength." While many eucalyptus oils are sharp and medicinal, Smithii offers a softer, more approachable aroma that is unusually well-tolerated by children and sensitive individuals. With a high 1,8-cineole content (70–80%), it remains a powerhouse for respiratory support, clearing congestion and soothing coughs without overwhelming the senses. Whether you are diffusing it for seasonal wellness or blending it for a warming muscle rub, it is the perfect "pillar of home wellness" for every season.
