Cypress was highly valued as a medicine in ancient civilisations and is still used as incense for purification in Tibet.

Bitter Orange in South America, the extract of bitter orange is a traditional remedy for the treatment of anxiety. Its anxiolytic effects may stem from mild stimulation of B3-adrenoreceptors, which antagonise the sympathetic nervous system overstimulation (Kaats et al., 2013). Bitter orange is also used as a stimulant in herbal medicine (Suryawanshi, 2011). Relief of stress may help lift the mood and stimulants may help reduce fatigue.

Sweet Marjoram is traditionally used as a stimulant and reportedly ‘prevents blockages in the sympathetic nervous system’ (Fischer-Rizzi, 1990) and balances the parasympathetic nervous system (Price and Price, 2011). It is also commonly used in aromatherapy as a neuro-tonic to relieve negative emotional states such as anxiety and irritability (Herz, 2009). 

Method Of Use

Use 4-6 drops in the bath or vaporiser.
(Always mix in with bath foam or a suitable carrier when using in the bath.)
