Rich and nourishing, Melissa is used in treating allergic conditions such as eczema, asthma and hay fever.

A perennial plant about 60cm high with a hairy stem, dark green leaves and small white flowers. The plant is highly aromatic and the oil is distilled from the flowering tops. Native to the Mediterranean region but now commonly grown throughout Europe, Middle Asia, North America and North Africa. It is mainly cultivated in France, Spain, Germany and Russia. There are several other species of this plant, many of which can be found in common gardens.

Therapeutic Properties 

• Melissa oil is indicated for use on 'heavy legs' especially in combination with Cypress Essential Oil 
• It has the same effects as the Essential Oil but in a much weaker effect
• Beneficial on dry mature skin and eczema
• Useful for nervous tension, anxiety, depression, hypertension and migraine.
