This Essential Oil is a pale watery-looking oil with strong camphor tones, moderated by fresh woody undertones.

Sometimes called Clove Nutmeg, it is an evergreen tree, originating in Madagascar and have broad leaves, the genus including not only shrubs but also large trees reaching heights in excess of 30 metres at maturity. Habitats include evergreen broadleaved forest, mixed coniferous-broadleaved forest, low-elevation evergreen forest and littoral rainforest and feature soils of all types. The leaves and twigs of this tree are similar in aroma to Eucalyptus and it is used widely in the perfume industry.



Blends well with: Lavender, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Cypress, Bay, Bergamot, Cardamom, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Frankincense, Geranium, Ginger, Grapefruit, Lemon, Marjoram, Pine, Tea Tree and Thyme.

No known contra-indications. Ravensara is extremely skin friendly and can be used neat on shingles, measles and chicken pox, even on children without irritation. It can be used to replace eucalyptus (blue gum) for sensitive skinned people.
