Palmarosa Essential Oil is a yellow oil with a sweet, rosy geranium smell.

This is a wild-growing herbaceous plant with long slender stems and flowering tops.  The grassy leaves are very fragrant. It is part of the same family as Lemongrass and Citronella and also closely related to Gingergrass, which is considered to be an inferior oil but in many places, the two types of grass are distilled together. Used widely as a fragrance component in, cosmetics, perfumes and soaps due to its excellent tenacity. Native to India and Pakistan but now grows in many places around the world.


Blends well with: Geranium, Rosewood, Rose, Lime, Lemon, Bergamot, Orange and Ylang Ylang.

Antiseptic, cicatrizant, digestive, febrifuge and stimulant, palmarosa is a very useful essential oil.  It treats a wide variety of skin conditions, including wrinkles and dry ageing skin; has an extensive range of benefits to the digestive system including anorexia, atonia and infection.  The oil acts on the intestinal flora and favours the transmutation of the pathogenic agent into normal cells – thus it arrests the deterioration of intestinal cells.  Also treats nervous exhaustion.
