Nurture Love Essential Oil a blend of Rosewood, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine and Lavandin to promote peace and unity within the spirit. Nurture Essential Oil blends are a useful tool in any home and promote wellbeing in mind, body and spirit.
Rosewood – Aniba Rosaeodora – Rosewood is reportedly used in Brazilian folk medicine as a relaxant and sedative. These effects may be due to the amount of Linalool within the oil. Linalool is the major constituent of rosewood oil, constituting 82-95%.
Ylang Ylang – Cananga odorata – It has been used traditionally in Indonesian culture, where its flowers are scattered or extract sprayed onto the beds of newlyweds (Rhind, 2012). This is due to its considered aphrodisiac properties, as it is reportedly both relaxing and euphoric. The relaxing properties are supported by studies showing ylang ylang applied topically (Hongratanaworakit and Buchbauer, 2006) and inhaled (Moss et al., 2008) significantly increased calmness and relaxation.
Jasmine Absolute – Jasminum officinale – This oil has also been used as an aphrodisiac for many centuries, often in love potions. Its reportedly relaxing, anxiolytic and antidepressant effects may give rise to this indication and has been the basis of many of its uses in aromatherapy today. Furthermore, jasmine is known for its stimulating properties (Davis, 1990), so like ylang-ylang could also be described as ‘harmonising’.
Lavandin Super – Lavandin x intermedia Super – Lavandin was relatively unknown until the 20th Century as it is a hybrid of true lavender and spike lavender. However, it appears to have some properties of both. It is said to be much less sedative than lavender, so has been used in aromatherapy when the actions of lavender are desired but the sedative effect is not. Like lavender, lavandin is said to have a relaxant effect and reduce anxiety.
