This 2-day course is aimed at the experienced therapist who wants to add further techniques to their 'toolboxes'. It is recommended that the therapist has Intermediate skills prior to attending the course. The course comprises an introduction to neuromuscular techniques and trigger points. Dermatomes and myotomes are discussed along with their effects on pain in the body. Methods of treatment are explored and practiced. There is inclusion of both passive and active movements into massage to mobilize the joints and tone the muscles. This advanced course explores the effects of exercise on the body and the importance of correct warm up and cool down procedures. Pre and post-sport routines are taught and a general maintenance massage is practiced. The course also includes some A&P revision. There is a focus on specific injuries and methods of treatment. Hot Stone Massage

Our Hot Stone courses come in many packages! For the experienced therapist who would like a post-graduate course, we offer a 2-day crash course giving opportunity for practice of the placements and movements. You need to be qualified in massage.

The course will begin with a historical introduction to the basic principles of using heated stones. Massage techniques for the whole body, (excluding the face) will be demonstrated and practiced, using the hot stones to relieve stress and tension. There will be discussion of the healing benefits and contra-indications and its practical application. Included is a facial treatment and also an introduction to using hot stones on chakras and meridians. Cost £190

Lymphatic Drainage Massage

rerequisite – An approved body massage qualification.
This advanced course is offered over 3 - days duration and teaches various methods of lymphatic drainage massage movements, for relief of oedema, sinusitis, low immunity, stress and ME. It can be used on client with fluid retention and lethargy to give energy and mobility. The treatment techniques are light in pressure, but effective. Back Care

An informative day of both the theory and the practice of looking after one of our most important bone structures - the back. Full body analysis is taught alongside practical massage manipulations for various back conditions such as sciatica and arthritis. Spineworks

Spineworks is a complete and comprehensive physical therapy with a neuromuscular approach. It enables practitioners of bodywork to include spinal alignment, the spine being the most important postural section of the body. Using gentle techniques, Spineworks releases muscle and connective tissue and aligns the vertebrae, without force. Relaxing tight muscle releases holding patterns, which allows any misaligned skeletal structures to fall back into place naturally. By communicating with the body at a deep neurological level, natural healing processes are stimulated. This approach helps structural realignments to remain in place.
