Avocado (Persea gratissima)
This carrier is pressed from the dried fruits and can often appear cloudy. If the oil is deep green, then the skins and the fruit have been pressed, as the green comes from the skin. If the oil is a natural yellow, the pressing is from the fruit only. Avocado contains vitamins A, B and D and is rich in lecithin. It is beneficial for dry, mature skin, eczema and obesity (the lecithin is thought to penetrate the top layers of the skin and help disperse fat cells). Usually, because avocado is so thick to use, it is diluted in sunflower oil and can form up to 25% of the total mixture. Avocado is fairly stable and will keep for 2 - 3 years in a cool, dark place.
